August Faves: Things To Do In August

Things that I loved in August till now are :

1. Drawing ink

As I was packing I found this old Staedtler drawing ink I hadn’t used in a long time, I grabbed a few brushes and I’ve been writing and drawing with it. For me it’s such a rough medium, I’m using it to practice hand lettering and to do warm up sketches.

I also find it’s a great medium for me, for those days I feel really stressed and I just need to doodle something to get it out… like art therapy or something. You can check on instagram to see a quick warm up portrait I posted on IG.

2. Art For You Ear Podcast

I love this podcast, it’s about interviews with amazing artists, the questions are pretty random and they make for great conversations we wouldn’t have access to in a traditional art interview.

3. My cat

I love my Panza 24/7 but you know how pets sense when you’re feeling down or sick? well she’s been extra cuddly and sweet right at the moment I needed an extra boost of positive energy.

4. Stash Tea

This brand is really hard to find here, so whenever I see it I get a few boxes and lately I’ve been happily sipping pomegranate raspberry green tea and chai spice black tea.

5. Youtubers

Not for everyone, I know, but there are a few channels I really enjoy and I have their videos playing while I’m drawing.

My fave videos of the month:
A) Estée Lalonde’s “Boyfriend does my make up
B) Rhett and Link’s “Shocking Ourselves with an Electric Fly Swatter
C) Fun For Louis’s “Gran Teton 360 Adventure

6. Rediscovering music

I’m one of those that need music or even noise at all times, so I have videos, audio books, podcast or whatever as background noise. So I was making new playlist and I found these songs I LOVED a long long time ago:
A) Tonic’s “If you could only see
B) Matchbox Twenty’s “Unwell
C) Sarah McLachlan’s “Fallen

What about you?
Did you blog your faves of the month? If you did leave a comment, I’d love to check it out.

Have a rad day!
